Discover The Pampers Safety Promise

Like you, we put baby’s safety first with absolutely no compromises. From sourcing quality ingredients to clinical testing and everything in between, we deliver on our Safety Promise everyday through our 4-step safety process.

Step 1: Ensure Safety At The Source

Ensuring product safety begins with using only safe raw materials and ingredients in our diapers and wipes. We buy materials from some of the world’s most reputable suppliers who meet the most demanding U.S. and European regulatory safety standards.

Most ingredients and components are widely used in other baby care products.

Step 2: Assess Manufactured Components

Before we even think about using an ingredient in our products, the ingredient and its supplier are evaluated extensively. Once our suppliers are thoroughly evaluated and approved, our safety experts dig below the surface.

Then, the manufactured diaper and wipe components can be evaluated through what’s known as a confirmatory compatibility patch study on adults.

Step 3: Evaluate Every Product

Only when the raw materials and ingredients, as well as manufactured components of Pampers products are deemed safe for baby through our first two steps, the products are, where appropriate, clinically tested with babies to confirm the safety in realistic conditions.

Step 4: Monitor Again (And Again)

We do not stop our assessment once the product hits the market. We conduct thousands of quality checks on every production line, and families around the world provide real-time feedback.

We continuously gather this feedback by monitoring, recording and following up on any safety-related concerns or adverse events raised by parents. We provide a number of ways to contact us to report any feedback, including: a toll-free telephone number on packaging, by letter, by email, and via the manufacturer’s sponsored social media and websites.

Finally, we don’t stop there. Our researchers often work in collaboration with external experts (e.g., pediatricians) to bring the most up-to-date safety assessment and testing methodologies into our assessments.
